About Walker Welding
It starts with a phone call. You tell us what you need—a gate that drags, a railing that wobbles, a broken brace on a fence. We ask about the location, what the gate is made of, how big the opening is. Then we set a time to come look at it. On site we measure the clearances, check the hinges and posts, and look at the ground conditions. We talk through the options: what material will hold up, what style fits the place, what the work will involve. You get a quote in plain numbers, no surprises. If you want to move ahead, we put you on the schedule and tell you when we will be there.
The work itself comes down to the right material and the right method. For gates we use schedule 40 pipe or heavier wall tube where it takes abuse. Welds get full penetration, not just a tack. Joints are ground smooth and the finish is a good coat of paint or powder coat, depending on what the gate will face. For railings, we set posts in concrete below the frost line and brace them so they do not rack. A fence that lasts is one where the posts are set right, the hinges are rated for the weight, and the welds are clean. Cutting corners on metal thickness or skipping the primer is how work fails. We do not do that.
Craftsmanship You Can Count On
We work on your property, not in a shop. That means we show up with everything we need in the truck: welder, grinder, gas, rods, tools, and materials. We lay down tarps where we are working to protect the driveway or the patio. We keep the noise to daytime hours and clean up every bead of slag and every cutoff before we leave. If we are welding near a wooden fence or dry grass, we have a fire extinguisher out and we watch the area until it is cool. When we pack up, the only sign we were there is the work itself. No mess, no leftover metal, no questions about what we left behind.

After the job, you are not on your own. If the gate sticks six months later or a weld needs a touch-up, you call the same number. A real person answers—usually the same person who did the quote or ran the crew. We come back out and take care of it. We do not have a voicemail tree or a dispatcher who has never seen the job.
